30 Min Sound Massage (1-2-1, For Women)

Service Description

A sound massage is a form of sound therapy that originated in India. It is an ancient, holistic & complementary therapy, that aims to induce a state of relaxation, in which the body can heal itself. However in this particular sound massage, I am combining techniques from a range of sources and teachers, the most notable being 'Art of Sacred Sound', The British Academy of Sound Therapy, and Simone Salvatici. We also know from the field of psychoacoustics and music psychology that it also possible to induce certain "moods" through the combination of musical notes used, and I personally like to focus on harmonic, stabilising, and relaxing combinations to help soothe the mind and spirit, and to bring about a sense of peace, calm and serenity.  WHAT TO EXPECT Himalayan Singing Bowls will be played on key energy centres to create gentle yet powerful sound waves that travel through your whole body, gently massaging every part of your being through the power of vibration.  You can also expect to feel a slight tingling, buzzing and warming radiance flowing throughout your body as the bowls are played, bringing you out of your mind and back into your body as you feel the sensations move through you, grounding you to the present, and bringing you "back down to earth".  A sound massage is fully clothed and works on the same energy centres and points as massage, acupuncture and reflexology,  it may be ideal for someone who has considered acupuncture but doesn't like the sight or feeling of needles or someone who has considered reflexology but doesn't want their feet touched or massaged.  In a 30 minute session, you'll receive 20 minutes of sound + 10 mins consult time. HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS A sound massage is of benefit to the majority of healthy people, but it is not recommended if you are working through certain health conditions.
